Situated on the West coast of the island just 18 klms from Lefkas town. Made famous by Aristotle Onassis, the mountains behind and the Prinkiponnisa in front.
Green just like the rest of the island, cosmopolitan, perfect for those who are looking for a wild holiday. Here you will find most of the watersports and small boats to take you round the Prinkiponisa, a small collection of islands amongst them Scorpios owned by Aristotle Onassis and Madouri the island of the National poet Aristotle Valaoritis).
Within the village you will find everything you require, restaurants, cafeterias, Bars and Discos, tourist offices, car and motorboat rentals, hotels, rooms for rent, gift shops, tobacconists, fruit and veg shops, bakers, butchers, super markets, off licenses, clothes and shoe shops.
The life during the summer.
From the early hours of the morning you will find the streets full of tourists in their bathing suits and hear the sounds of the speed boats taking people parascending or water skiing, out on the banana or the ringo and whatever else may come to mind that can raise the adrenalin levels to their peak beckoning you to join in the fun.
Mid afternoon and it becomes a bit more quiet as people drift off for their siesta, those who remain are turning to the shaded areas. The beach is full with sun bathers who occasionally dip into the cool waters or pop into one of the many bars for a cocktail. All is calm for a few hours until the evening session begins!
...Suddenly everywhere is full, the streets are impenetrable by car, the shops filled with prospective buyers, it is difficult to find a table in the restaurants and bars! People come and go and you get the feeling your are in a busy town instead of a small village. Tourists of all nationalities and age "parade" along "Aristoteli Onassis Street" (in the harbour) or through the main high street.
As the sun sets and day is taken over by night the rhythm and the sound of loud music increases! The bars are filled with the young people from the surrounding villages as well as the tourists. Drinks flow freely as bodies sway to the sounds of the music by the DJ's.
Way past midnight and creeping into the early hours of the morning and nothing changes everyone is still out and about, some change bars whilst others visit the night clubs, the beach parties are in full swing! This continues through 'till dawn,it makes you wonder if anyone sleeps on holiday!
